Volkswagen Has Unveiled Two Variants of The Golf Gti Model

German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has unveiled two variants of the Golf GTI model prior to their launch at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show to be held in Switzerland during 05-17 March.

Volkswagen Unveils Two Variants of Golf GTI

Both the GTI and GTI Performance variants will be powered by a 2L turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine, which are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and generate output powers of 220ps and 230ps respectively and a torque of 350Nm.

The new GTI version can sprint from 0-62mph in 6.5S, while achieve a top speed of 152mph, while the GTI Performance can reach 62mph in 6.4S and achieve a top speed of 155mph.

The GTI and the GTI performance offer fuel consumptions of 6.4L/100km (44.1mpg) and 6.5L/100km (43.5mpg) respectively with the optional six-speed DSG gearbox, while having fuel consumption value of 6L/100km (47mpg) with carbon emissions of 139g/km for manual gear box.

Both the versions are equipped with a Stop/Start system and comply with the European Union-6 emissions standard that will be in effect from 2014, claims the company.
