Sausage Products Recalled by Oscar's Hickory House

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Oscar’s Hickory House, a Warrensburg, N.Y. establishment is recalling around 376 pounds of sausage products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

The products contained undeclared soy, milk, wheat, and sulfites, known allergens, reports USDA.

The products subjected to recall include: .75 lb Cryovac 4 link packages of Oscar's Smoke House "Rabbit Sausage with White Wine (veal and pork added); .75 lb Cryovac 4 link packages of Oscar's Smoke House "Elk Sausage with Apples, Pears, and Port Wine (beef and pork added); and .75 lb Cryovac 4 link packages of Oscar's Smoke House "Hickory Smoked Duck Sausage with Apple Jack Brandy (pork and beef added).

The products were produced from March 1, 2014 through January 26, 2015 and bear the establishment number "4257" inside the USDA mark of inspection without any sell by date printed on the product label. These were sold at Oscar's Hickory House in Warrensburg, New York.

The issue was identified on January 23 by FSIS personnel during a label review at the store.

Both FSIS and the company so far have not received any adverse reports due to consumption of these products.
