At over 40,000 square feet, the new facility is over three times the size of its existing site in Baldoyle and is strategically placed and equipped to serve existing and new customers across a range of sectors.
According to Macfarlane, the new facility has strong transport links, via the M50 and M11 motorways, to serve customers throughout Ireland. The site will have flexographic and lithographic print capabilities to supply customers with a quality range of self-adhesive and re-sealable labels.
The new operation will be run by Macfarlane Group’s team from the Baldoyle facility and with the planned sales growth there is the potential to create more jobs in the area, according to the firm.
Protective Packaging products
In response to customer demand in Ireland, Macfarlane Group will use the new facility to broaden its product and service offering to include the distribution of a range of protective packaging products.
Angela Campbell, who will be responsible for the new site, said: “The relocation to Newtownmountkennedy is a great opportunity for Macfarlane Group.
“The site is well located and equipped to support customers across many sectors, including food, health & beauty and household products. The extra space will allow us to raise production capacity to work in tandem with our labels site in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and broaden our packaging services in Ireland.
“The move demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our product and service offer to our customer base in Ireland.”
