Bosch Packaging Services has announced its intention to acquire a minority share of Industrial Pharmaceutical Resources (IPR) of Bartlett, Illinois in the US.
Bosch Packaging Services general manager Gary Anderton said securing a minority share of IPR is set to strengthen the company's value chain and provide an addition to its recent acquisition of Manesty in the UK and Huttlin in Schopfheim, Germany.
"Working together, we expect to have cost synergies and our collective efforts will provide enhanced support to customers in the aftermarket sector," Anderton said.
IPR, which refurbishes, upgrades and manufactures control and automation products and inspection systems for pharmaceutical equipment such as tablet presses, generated sales of about $12.4m in 2011.
The company also provides a range of control and automation products and services as well as tooling inspection and analysis systems.
