Plastic packaging company Quinn Plastics & Packaging said it has acquired a Kiefel KMD 85 thermoformer in an effort to become a major player in rigid food packaging.
The machine is the first major investment by the company into packaging machinery, complementing the firm's existing bank of KMD 85 thermoformers.
Quinn Plastics & Packaging managing director Charles Shaw the Quinn Group has undergone a major corporate and financial restructuring in the past 18 months.
"This investment demonstrates to the industry that this process is now behind us and we are now focusing on the future with great optimism as we look to continue our growth and development in the packaging industry."
Quinn Packaging is part of the Quinn Plastics & Packaging division of the Quinn Manufacturing Group which also includes a container glass division, a domestic radiator division and a construction industry supply division.
