Food Resembling Medicines or Vice Versa Is Not at All Welcome

Bizline, the importer of Choco 4 lollies, has been facing opposition to its packaging that is reportedly very similar to blister packs containing pills.

Parents have voiced concern that kids would mistake medicines for lollies, though Bizline said it pursued some kind of differentiation desired in packaging, reported odt.co.nz.

New Zealand poisons centre director Dr Wayne Temple said any food resembling medicines or vice versa is not at all welcome.

Bizline business development manager Salman Abbas said he stopped importing the confectionary in March because he feared the date of expiry was not printed properly.

"They do have similar packaging and they do look like Panadols but there are so many other products on the market like this." added Abbas.

Bizline is based in Hamilton.
