Packaging optimization consultancy, The Less Packaging has secured its first project with the satellite TV giant Tata Sky to develop new packaging for its range of set top boxes, which are distributed widely across India.
Tata Sky senior technical manager Rajaneesh Chaubey said the company expects the new boxes to be more material-efficient compared to the previous designs, which will deliver an additional cost saving for it and less packaging for the customer to recycle.
"Less was a natural choice of partner due to its global packaging expertise and in-house packaging design and development facility here in Gurgaon," Chaubey said.
Since its launch in Gurgaon four months ago, Indian office of Less has been working on a range of international projects.
Over £100,000 has been invested in computer-aided box optimization software, hardware and testing equipment to provide new technology available in developing display and transit packaging.
