UK-based packaging company Cepac has agreed to acquire DS Smith's corrugated packaging business(formerly known as SCA Branded Packaging)based in Darlington,England,for£1.4bn.
Cepac managing director Rod Ainslie said the company reached an agreement with DS Smith to acquire the company.
The sale is subject to EU clearance,which is expected to be completed by early 2013,and the workforce of 130 based at the Darlington plant will transfer to Cepac under existing terms and conditions of the employment.
Based in Rotherham,England,Cepac is part of the HSA Group of Companies.
