French automaker Renault has reported a revenue of EUR20.4bn during the first half of 2013, a 0.9% decrease compared to the revenue it reported during the corresponding period of 2012.

The company reported an operating margin of EUR583m, compared to EUR508m it reported in the first half of 2012.

During the quarter, the company recorded group registrations of 1.3 million units, a 1.9% drop against the vehicles registered during the same period previous year.

The group reported a net income of EUR97m, representing EUR0.14 per share compared to the EUR2.703 per share during the first half of 2012.

Renault chairman and chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn said in a difficult environment, the success of new models, cost controls and the commitment of all the teams enabled the company to post a positive operating margin for the Automotive in the first half year.

"We are on track to achieve the objectives we announced for 2013," Ghosn added.
