Google Drive Users Had to Deal with a Service Outage That Lasted About Two Hours

It was a tough Monday morning for some Google Drive users who had to deal with a service outage that lasted about two hours.

Google Drive, a free service that allows users to store documents, videos and Google Docs and access them anywhere, was first reported down for some users at 10:17 a.m. ET.

The company then said at 11:10 a.m. that the outage was affecting a "significant subset of users" and that its tech people are working on the problem. Forty-five minutes later, it reported that the service had been restored for "some" users and said the outage would be resolved within an hour.

At 12:35 p.m., Google issued a reporting saying that the problem affecting Google Drive had been fixed.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support," the company said in a status update. "Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better."

Google did not say what the problem was or how many users had been affected.

Users, venting their frustrations on Twitterearlier in the day, complained about the service being down or being slow to load.
