Silk Has Launched an Initiative to Conserve Freshwater and Preserve

US-based Silk, a provider of nutritious milk alternatives, has launched Change the Course, an initiative to conserve freshwater and preserve the ecological health of the heavily dammed, diverted and overused Colorado River Basin.

Silk had collaborated with Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) since 2003 and it has recently partnered with the National Geographic Society and Participant Media to support the initiative.

This initiative will enable the people and communities to lower their freshwater footprint and to put efforts for on-the-ground water restoration.

In addition, Silk will offset 50% of its manufacturing water footprint by purchasing water restoration certificates and 100% of its electricity footprint from manufacturing at its company owned facilities for 2013.

Silk, by using plant-based ingredients, offers a broad portfolio of nutritious milk alternatives such a Silk Soymilk, Silk PureAlmond and Silk PureCoconut.
