Canadian packaging solutions provider CCL Industries has announced that the company ended its previously announced deal to acquire John Watson & Company, a label converter in Scotland.
The parties were subsequently unable to reach agreement pertaining to the proposed deal, which was announced on 20 November 2012, on contractual terms, and together decided to end further discussions.
CCL Label will continue to serve Scotland's spirits industry from its existing operations in the UK in East Kilbride and Castleford.
Earlier, CCL announced that the acquired company will change its trading name to CCL Label upon completion of the transaction, and become a part of the global wine & spirits network.
CCL Label converts pressure sensitive and film materials for label applications and sells to global customers in the consumer packaging, healthcare, automotive and consumer durable segments.
