China's Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang were presented at the very distant location of Berlin, Germany. The 49th Berlin International Tourism Fair included the grottoes, presented by the National Tourism Administration as an important piece of heritage; the grottoes are, after all, the starting point of the Silk Road.
"The Longmen Grottoes are regarded as the business card of Luoyang and have drawn a lot of attention from the press. It helps to promote Luoyang's tourism," an officer of the Longmen Grottoes administration bureau said.
The annual Berlin International Tourism Fair was held from March 4th to 8th. It is one of world's largest tourism exhibitions. This year's exhibition included more than 10,000 exhibitors from 106 countries and was expected to attract around 170,000 visitors. The National Tourism Administration presented China's tourism under the themes "Beautiful China" and The "Silk Road" at the Fair.
