Turkey imported 14.994 tons of seamless steel pipes in January, soaring by 20.8% from a month ago and rising by 26.8% year on year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, the country’s import revenues generated by seamless steel pipes were at US$22.5 million, up by 24.5% year on year.
In January, China was the largest seamless steep pipe exporter to Turkey with 7,214 tons, jumping by 64.4% from a month ago and rising by 84.8% year on year.
In 2012, Turkey’s imports of seamless steel pipes amounted to 203,237 tons, falling by 6% year on year. The import revenues were at US$295.5 million, declining by 13.5% year on year.
