Following a slight increase in turnover of 0.6% in January and a decline of 3.6% in February, businesses engaged in the German timber business closed out March with a sharp year-on-year decrease in revenues of 10.4% to €1.202bn. The German federal statistics agency in Wiesbaden reports falls in domestic turnover of 9.9% to €904.2m and in foreign turnover of 12% to €297.4m in March. However, in assessing that trend it should be noted that March 2013 featured two working days less than March 2012.
