German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen is planning to build a new engine assembly plant in India by 2015.
In 2013, the German carmaker is planning to invest EUR60m in its India business to localise components as well as increase export potential from the country
Additionally, the company is also planning to start export of vehicles in 2013 to Taiwan and North Africa from India, according to Reuters.
Apart from the new engine assembly plant, the German automaker has two plants in India at Chakan and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
The Chakan plant builds models like Skoda Fabia, VW Polo hatchbacks, Skoda Rapid and VW Vento sedans, while Aurangabad facility produces Skoda Laura, Superb, VW Jetta, Passat, and Audi A4 and A6.
