Central European Sales Markets for OSB Have Continued to Fare Well in The Past Few Weeks

21.11.2012 − Unlike particleboard and MDF markets, which are experiencing pressure at present, Central European sales markets for OSB have continued to fare well in the past few weeks. The recovery in demand seen in the third quarter hung on in October and in the first half of November. OSB producers are reaping the rewards of favourable weather conditions for builders. OSB delivered to merchants is thus selling quickly. As the autumn went on, many merchants also gradually become more willing to order more OSB again after being reluctant to do so into the summer. At the same time, more OSB was being placed on stock. This trend was being intensified by consistent sales and price hikes announced by several OSB manufacturers during September, most of which have now taken effect. Other sales sectors, too, such as the packaging industry, the pre-fabricated home business and DIY stores, are relatively stable at present too.
