The Total Output of Japan's Fasteners Decreased by 3.7% to 2.76 Million Tons in 2011

Being affected by the earthquake on 11 March 2011, the appreciation of YEN, and depressed individual consumption, the total output of Japan’s fasteners decreased by 3.7% to 2.76 million tons in 2011 and the production amount dropped by 1.4% to 797.3 billion YEN accordingly while compared with 2010. Like the production situation, Japan's fastener export in 2011 showed down tendency as well, which due to the sluggish of European economy, the slow economic growth of newly-emerging nations and the appreciation of YEN. The export volume saw a slight decrease of 1.8% to 305,000 tons while the export value down 1.6% to 231.9 billion YEN year-on-year. In 2011, the fastener imported by Japan grew by 10.8% and 11.8% to 218,000 tons and 64 billion YEN, which was the highest in history. Source:chinafastener
