Asustek computer now ranks third in the tablet market, however, rival lenovo is challenging its status. IDC report that in the second quarter of 2013 lenovo shipped 1.5 million tablet computers, in the third quarter shipments is expected to rise to 1.8 million units. Although in the third quarter, Apple, Samsung, and Asus tablet will continue to maintain the first three ranks, but the gap between Lenovo and Asustek will shrink further. Asus 2G Nexus 7 sales lower than expected.
Because Lenovo will launch a new tablet IdeaTab S5000,it's shipments in the fourth quarter of 2013 is expected to record growth. The smart phone and tablet accounted for 14% of the Lenovo group total turnover. By 2016 the proportion or will rise to 50%. Lenovo tablet shipments will reach 10 million units in 2013. In June 2013, Lenovo shows a 10.1 -inch, tablets with Intel dual-core processor. It will appear on the market in 2013.
