The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announced it will launch a peer-reviewed technical journal serving the cleaning, restoration and inspection industries in early 2014.
"Technical and science journals are common in most professional fields," said IICRC Chairman Darrel Paulson. "The cleaning, restoration and inspection industry is a small niche market that is currently unserved. No other industry organization is positioned as well as the Institute to meet this need."
Publishing a peer-reviewed technical journal will play a key role in developing and disseminating the technical body of knowledge that will enhance the overall growth and financial viability of the IICRC as well as enable it to more fully implement its mission statement.
The publication will be published six times per year, with the first issue set for distribution in early 2014. Titled The Journal, it will provide in-depth technical articles focusing on the four disciplines represented by the Institute. This includes hard-surface cleaning, soft-surface cleaning, disaster restoration and inspection. The journal's distribution audience will be certified firms, master cleaners, master restorers, inspectors, IICRC schools and instructors, and members of the International Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Association..
