Taiwan's Steel Export Falls by 5.3% Year on Year

Taiwan's export values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel totaled US$8.1 billion in the first half of this year, falling by 5.3% year on year, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given period of time, the country's import values for the mentioned products amounted to US$5.9 billion, decreasing by 8.9% year on year. In June alone, Taiwan's export values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel totaled US$1.4 billion, falling by 5.6% year on year and decreasing by 8% from a month ago. At the same time, Taiwan's import values generated by those products totaled US$918 million, rising by 4.6% from May but decreasing by 10.8% year on year.
