According to data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, the country's export values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel totaled US$1.45 billion in August, increasing by 7.6% year on year and remaining flat from July. Meanwhile, Taiwan's import values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel were at US$776.5 million in August, falling by 16.1% from July and decreasing by 17.5% year on year. In the first eight months of this year, Taiwan's export and import values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to US$11.6 billion and US$7.6 billion, falling by 4% and 10.6% year on year respectively.
