Driven by blooming demand from southern Taiwan's construction projects, Hai Kwang, one of the major rebar manufacturers in southern Taiwan, has announced to raise its rebar base prices by NT$100/ton for this week. Hai Kwang's new rebar listed base price is NT$17,400/ton which is about the same level as in central and northern Taiwan market. The current good weather in southern Taiwan made the contractors to speed up their working schedule and finally caused the rebar demand to go up in southern Taiwan. Hai Kwang estimated its average rebar shipping quantity in the fourth quarter will be 60,000 tons per month, rising by almost 20% from the third quarter.
