It's reported that China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest steelmaker in Taiwan announced to remain its list prices for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods unchanged at NT$21,200/ton for December, terminating the price cut for consecutive two months.
In fact, CSC's list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods had ever surged to NT$27,000/ton last year; however, it started to drop in last September.
CSC stressed that it decided to keep its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rod for December as it considered the weak performance of the Taiwanese small screw makers in export markets, in spite of rising prices of scraps and iron ore.
The firm expected its unchanged prices policy for EF Al-killed wire rod could help the Taiwanese small screw makers to gain orders in overseas market.
