Turkey Exports 64,523 Tons of Wire Rods in May, Decreasing by 12.3%

Turkey exported 64,523 tons of wire rods in May, decreasing by 12.3% from a month ago and slumping by 44.6% year on year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Also, the figures hit the lowest level since January, 2011. In the first five months of this year, the country's exports of wire rods amounted to 434,708 tons, lower than 507,414 tons in the same period of a year ago. In the given period of time, Libya was the largest importer of Turkish wire rods with 62,344 tons; Israel was the second largest one with 55,970 tons and Singapore was the third largest one with 41,220 tons.
