Norwegian softwood-lumber exports to the EU in the first half-year 2013 were more or less as they had been in the same period of last year. Eurostat data shows that deliveries of rough-sawn and planed softwood lumber amounted to 255,391 m3. Sweden is the number one recipient country with a volume of 160,393 m3; deliveries to the neighbouring country were 3% lower than a year earlier. The proportion of the total exports accounted for by deliveries to Sweden fell to 63%. Deliveries to Denmark, however, rose by 14% to 47,687 m3 and to a share of 19%. Exports to the UK rose by 22% to 27,571 m3. In terms of the different assortments, exports of rough products increased 1% to 184,496 m3. Whereas exports of spruce rose by 9% to 131,044 m3, pine exports fell by 18% to 43,595 m3. Exports of other softwood lumber were reduced by 16% to 9857 m3. Planed-product exports increased 2% to 70,895 m3.
