Invopak Announced an Agreement with Cheko to Stock 100% Oxy-Biodegradable Range

UK-based packaging supplier Invopak announced a distribution agreement with Polish company Cheko to stock its 100% oxy-biodegradable square and rectangle plastic buckets to recognize the industry’s need to take environmental issues into consideration.

Invopak sales director Scott Sandilands said environmental considerations are a key issue in its industry, so the sheer volume of packaging used in UK calls for efficient disposal and recycling, according to packagingeurope.com.

"Cheko's products offer our customers a cost effective, viable alternative to 'environmentally friendly' plastic products currently available," Sandilands said.

Cheko's products are made from food grade polypropylene and a collar system which incorporates a tamper evident feature protects contents for added security.

Cheko, which was established in 1988, claims to be the first manufacturer to produce oxy-biodegradable plastic containers that are 100% eco-friendly. Its containers decompose into water, carbon dioxide, biomass and trace elements in just a few years, instead of clogging up landfill sites.
