Stora Enso has announced plans to invest about €32m in its Skoghall Mill in Sweden, in addition to the recent investment of about €90m in a new woodroom and woodyard for improved wood handling at the mill.
Stora Enso Renewable Packaging EVP Mats Nordlander, commenting on the development, said, "The investment will equip Skoghall Mill with new potential for increasing operational efficiency to enhance our competitiveness in the attractive packaging market."
The investment program will involve rebuilding of a fiber line in the sulphate pulp mill and its chemical recovery operations, thereby increasing its pulp production capacity annually by 45000t.
According to the Finnish pulp and paper manufacturer, the investment will enable the mill to increase production volumes, besides improving its cost position.
Stora Enso, the global rethinker of the paper, biomaterials, wood products and packaging industry, rethinks the old and expands to the new to offer new solutions based on renewable materials to its customers.
