Injection moulded packaging specialist RPC Superfos has developed a new injection moulded polypropylene pot for Orkla Foods Norway’s chocolate spread Nugatti.
Available in new 350g pack along with the earlier version of 500g, the customized packaging solution offers a clear brand display, the company said.
Both the pack formats featuring Nugatti branding with colored backgrounds share a same size lid, thereby offering cost savings.
Orkla Foods Norway purchasing director Jan Sævareid said: "As purchasing director, I find it particularly excellent that we can reduce the number of packaging pieces from four to three: Two bodies and one lid instead of two bodies and two lids. This change has lowered our costs."
Three new varieties of the spread with hazelnut bites in the new packaging is expected to drive sales.
"Though our brand has been the consumer's preferred choice for decades we know that we must constantly develop and renew our products to earn customer loyalty.
"That is why we present new varieties every year and work on improving our packaging solutions," Jan Sævareid added.
RPC Superfos designs and manufactures injection moulded plastic pots and containers for food and non-food producers. It also supplies in-mould labelling, oxygen barrier, light weight and sustainable co-injection (recycled material) solutions.
The company operates manufacturing facilities in Randers and Stilling, Denmark and Mullsjö and Lidköping, Sweden.
According the company, all its manufacturing sites are approved to ISO 9001 Quality System, ISO 14001 Environmental & BRC/IoP Hygiene Standard.
