In recent months, global milk prices are volatile and there is a lot of nervousness in the market. Some dairy farmers in UK have to sell milk for 11.4 penny every pint however the cost is 15.9 penny. Just one year ago, the milk price was 19.2 penny every pint. Milk industry remains depressed in the beginning of 2015.
APTAMIL wasn't able to pay the debt and other dairy products companies such as Arla, Dairy Crest and Muller Wiseman lowered the milk retail price in recent weeks due to a price downturn. The data shows that more than 60 dairy farmers abandon their job and drop out of the market every month.
Dairy farmers condemn the supermarkets to slash milk prices .The price of milk of Asda, Aldi, Lidl has dropped to 89 penny every 4 pint. However, supermarket claims that a lower price and less profits haven't affect the money they paid to farmers. Farmers believe that a price lower than mineral water means their products are relentlessly devalued.
