Finland-based Valmet has received a contract to supply modern machine to Italy’s Pro-Gest Group, allowing it to expand its paper recycling capacity.
Under the deal, Valmet will supply a machine, which will be installed at Pro-Gest's new facility in Mantova, Italy.
The machine, which will be used in the production of lightweight recycled case material, will have an installed capacity of 550 tons of recycled paper.
Valmet has also agreed to provide a new high capacity winder, machine auxiliaries and mill-wide DNA technology to Pro-Gest.
Pro-Gest, which is owned by Zago family, is a vertically integrated producer of packaging in corrugated board.
The company is involved in operations ranging from the collection of raw materials to packaging production.
Earlier this month, Stora Enso installed its Ingerois board mill in Finland with new aqua cooling calendering technology from Valmet.
The move comes as Stora Enso decided to modernize the precalender of its board machine BM 4 that produces folding boxboard for the consumer packaging industry.
The technology is claimed to reduce the basis weight of the end product at BM 4 while maintaining the board's functional and visual properties.
