Folding carton packaging supplier Action Packaging Systems has installed a Xeikon 3500 digital color press,in a bid to expand its business further.
Action Packaging Systems president Douglas Rice said the better uptime and the avoidance of costly setup times with printing plates were the two major reasons that prompted the company to select the Xeikon 3500.
"The Xeikon 3500 is the engine that's driving our labels business forward,"Rice said.
Ideal for the production of label and packaging applications,the Xeikon 3500 is equipped with LED-based imaging heads.It features true 1200 dpi resolution with variable dot density and generates good image quality.
The press runs on Xeikon's QA-I toner and has the capacity to handle monthly duty cycles of up to 3.8 million ft2 on a wide range of substrates.
