The Dow Performance Packaging Business Has Launched New Innovation Center

The Dow Chemical Company's Performance Packaging business has launched new innovation center, Pack Studios, which provides packaging solutions through a global network of labs, experts and testing equipment.

According to the company, Pack Studios will provide an opportunity to experiment with various properties for flexible food and beverage packaging such as protective barrier films, sealants and adhesives.

Dow Performance Packaging North America technical services and development director Scott Collick said Pack Studios is summarized in three words including collaborate, innovate and accelerate.

"By combining these three core values, Pack Studios becomes a catalyst for the packaging solutions of tomorrow, providing customers with a competitive advantage today," Collick added.

At present, the company has four Pack Studios centers, at Freeport, Texas; Horgen, Switzerland; So Paulo, Brazil; and Shanghai, China.

A collaboration room in each center offers solution-based thinking, laboratory facilities for material development, as well as fabrication and testing equipment in order to validate packaging applications.

At the centers, customers can test applications in rigid plastic, shrink wrap, stretch hood films, as well as flexible packaging for food, the company said.
