Smartphone-use lens module maker Largan Precision recorded net EPS of NT$68.82 (US$2.23) for the first half of 2015, the company said at a July 16 investors conference.
Of smartphone-use lens modules shipped in the second quarter, 10-megapixel and above models accounted for 20-30%, 8-megapixel 40-50%, 5-megapixel 0-10%, and 1-megapixel and HD 10-20%, company CEO Pin En-ping said.
Largan is constructing a new factory, and in order to expand production capacity in the interim to meet increasing orders has rented two existing factories for temporary capacity expansion. Production at the two factories will begin in the fourth quarter of 2015, Lin indicated.
As Largan is a main supplier of lens modules used in iPhones, and Apple is expected to launch new iPhone models in the third or fourth quarter of 2015, Largan's operations for the second half of the year will increase from the first half, according to local market analysts.
