DS Smith has acquired multi material packaging solutions provider DPF Groupe for an undisclosed sum.
DPF Groupe is specialized in the manufacturing of multi-material packaging products such as cardboard, foam, wood and others.
With around 80 employees, DPF Groupe has two firms in France, including DPF in Rives near Grenoble and Tout’Embal in Alès.
The acquisition will help DS Smith to expand its presence in growing markets.
DS Smith chief executive Miles Roberts said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of DPF Groupe and very much look forward to working with our new colleagues as we continue to enhance our leading customer offering in France.”
In March, DS Smith opened a new PackRight Center in Oftringen, Switzerland.
The new PackRight Center, which is the company's 27th in European network, will help in developing display and packaging concepts to reduce time-to-market while helping in increasing sales and reducing costs for customers.
The center will offer its customers with the opportunity to collaborate with packaging experts to design and build new or improved packaging solutions.
In April, DS Smith Tecnicarton and Plastic 7 have developed an industrial packaging for automotive industry, which enables the arrival of the piece to its destination in perfect conditions.
The new industrial packaging product, Tecnipack container, has been designed with an expanded capacity.
DS Smith provides various packaging solutions, including corrugated packaging, reusable packaging, protection packaging and logistic packaging.
