PET packaging specialist APPE will invest £10m in its preform manufacturing platform at Gresford plant in the UK.
PET preform production at the plant started 30 years ago.
The capital will be used for the installation of five Husky preform injection moulding systems and the latest generation ancillary equipment including silos, resin drying systems and water chilling systems.
The installation of the new injection moulding machines will increase the plant's annual capacity by 1.5 billion units to eight billion units.
APPE UK commercial director George Hendry said: "APPE has successfully renewed existing contracts and has also won new business despite our parent company (LSB) entering voluntary insolvency in 2013.
"The company has worked very closely with our customers throughout this period to retain our position as Europe's premier PET preform and container designer and manufacturer."
APPE designs and manufactures rigid plastic packaging for food, drinks, alcohol, personal care and household markets. It has nine manufacturing facilities in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Morocco, and Turkey.
Rigid plastic manufacturer Plastipak Packaging is buying APPE from the bankrupt La Seda de Barcelona (LSB) for €360m.
