Ohringen based Huber Packaging Group is set to acquire the locations of Crown general line tinplate packaging in Switzerland, Finland, Great Britain and France.
Financial details of the purchase remain undisclosed, with the acquisition expected to be closed by the end of the first quarter of 2015.
This new development will help the company to expand its market share in its core business sector and also to establish market access to other fields, Huber stated. The company is specifically focusing on boosting its European presence in chemical-technical tinplate packaging.
Huber Packaging Group management board chairman Thomas H. Hagen said: "With this acquisition, we are actively pushing ahead with the consolidation of the European tinplate packaging market and are significantly expanding our position in the chemical-technical tinplate packaging business within Europe.
"The four new locations will fit in optimally with HUBER and will greatly contribute to expanding the HUBER network. The teams will therefore ultimately benefit from good development perspectives."
Headquartered in Philadelphia, Crown offers packaging products globally.
