Hangzhou-Based Conference Attracts Top Suppliers and Glass Fabricators

Hangzhou-based conference attracts top suppliers and glass fabricators. Quanex Building Products participated in the 2013 China Glass Industry Annual Conference and Technical Forum March 26-28, providing a guest speaker and warm edge spacer exhibit.

YS Park, Quanex’s business development director, Asia, attracted a crowd as he delivered his presentation, “Super Spacer for High Performance IGU Fabrication and High Productivity.”

“The conference exceeded our expectations in many ways with some of the top suppliers and fabricators from China in attendance,” said Ramsey Bader, director, international sales and marketing, Quanex Building Products. “We uncovered many valuable business opportunities and opportunities for collaboration with fenestration industry leaders in China. We look forward to continuing the conversations that were started as we strengthen our relationships in the Chinese marketplace.”

According to Bader, hot topics at the conference included production automation, energy efficiency, a trend toward larger glass panels and the possibility of regional collaboration efforts and benchmarking for insulating glass standards.

“YS Park met with Mr. Chang, the Chairman of the China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association, to discuss the possibility of bringing the Chinese, Korean and Japanese glass associations together to discuss IGU standards,” Bader said. “This is an exciting prospect that we hope to help coordinate in the near future.”

Quanex is committed to expanding its presence and service offerings to the Chinese fenestration market. Based in Seoul, Korea, Park is Quanex’s business development director in Asia, leading the company’s efforts in the region.
