Oberto Brands, a US-based meat snacks producer, plans to open a new production facility in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2013, a move which will create 310 new jobs.
This is part of the Oberto Brands' effort to meet the growing demand for its products. Currently, the company produces three brands - Oh Boy, Oberto!, Lowrey's Meat Snacks and Pacific Gold Beef Jerky.
The new facility will join the company's existing production plant at its headquarters in Kent, Washington.
Oberto Brands CEO Tom Ennis said the company decided to boost its production capacity in response to the significant growth of its brands over the past few years.
"We chose Nashville as the location for Oberto's new production facility because of its great business climate and incredible workforce; we look forward to partnering with this dynamic, growing city to help us diversify our supply chain and get closer to the fastest growing region of our business," Ennis added.
The facility is being leased from Corporate Property Associates 16 - Global, an affiliate of W P Carey. It is expected to open in the second quarter of 2013, creating new jobs in the area ranging from plant director to line workers.
Privately-held Oberto Brands was established in Seattle in 1918. Its products are found primarily in convenience stores, as well as on grocery aisles and club stores throughout the US.
