The Swiss Krono group intends to locate a Russian OSB investment project announced this spring at a site in Krasnokamsk in the region of Perm, which is on the western edge of the Urals. Ines Kaindl, the chairwoman of the group's supervisory board, and Viktor Basargin, the governor of the region of Perm, signed a declaration of intent for the project on 12 September. Russian media reports stated that previous talks had lasted several months. Alternatively, the Swiss Krono group also looked at sites in the regions of Kostroma, Ulyanovsk, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen. Krono-Gruppe Schweiz has run a particleboard, MDF/HDF and laminate flooring mill in Sharya in the oblast of Kostroma since 2002.
