Flexible packaging printer Glenroy and lubricant formulator Lube-Tech have joined forces to develop the new stand-up oil pouch for the US power sports industry.
The new stand-up pouch has been engineered for Arctic Cat's new C-TEC2 Synthetic engine oil and designed for easy pouring, convenient storage, waste reduction as well as for better shelf impact.
The lightweight and flexible oil pouch provides high-barrier properties to protect the integrity of the synthetic oil blend.
Initial concepts of flexible packaging options were developed by Lube-Tech, which further worked with Glenroy to engineer and produce the final stand-up pouch.
As compared to a rigid oil bottle, the C-TEC2 Synthetic oil pouch offers various environmental benefits.
The pouch generates less CO2 emissions during production and results in a higher product-to-package ratio. It also requires fewer trucks for transportation and produces less landfill waste through source reduction.
Arctic Cat lubricant supervisor Tom Schaefer said the new packaging will make the use of the product easier, while minimizing waste.
"Plus, it gave us significantly more printable surface area to tell the C-TEC2 story and display the eye-catching graphics," Schaefer added.
