Milliken is set to introduce its new clarifying agent for polypropylene (PP) Millad NX 8000, which lets processors produce parts with better optics at lower processing temperature and shorter cycle times.
According to the company, the new Millad NX 8000 is opening doors for the use of lightweight PP with a glass-like appearance in packaging applications such as drinks cups as well as kitchenware.
Milliken will also exhibit the advantages of its nucleating agent Hyperform HPN-600ei for better transparency and visual appearance, lightweighting and PET/PS replacement in thermoforming cups and trays.
The company claims that parts made with PP containing the additive Hyperform HPN-600ei have a fresh look. The additive also enables improved output rates compared to conventional nucleating agents.
Specific import, handling and storage challenges for PP producers in the Middle East using talc in PP grades will be addressed through Milliken's new Hyperform HPN-20E.
The additive, which is used at lower addition rates, enables the producers to reduce inventory and transport costs and simultaneously offers a combination of isotropic shrinkage characteristics with good physical property balance and crystallization effects to the molders.
The company will introduce its latest advancements at Arabplast 2013, which will be held from 7-10 January in Dubai, UAE.
