Santa Margherita has installed a new Sacmi’s 24-head OPERA 450 machine with 6 self-adhesive labeling units at its vineyard in Portogruaro Veneto, Italy.
The machine brings the total number of solutions supplied by Sacmi to the Italian winemaker to four.
The new OPERA 450 is designed to handle up to 12,000 applications per hour on sparkling wines, rising to 18,000 on still wines.

Sacmi will also install a laser marker system for the counter-labels, which will indicate the production batch,to meet the customer requirement.
Sacmi said in a statement: “Our goal, in fact, is to become an all-round partner to the wine industry (a key exponent of Made in Italy excellence), which sees packaging and end-of-line solutions as the key to boosting efficiency and competitiveness on both national and international markets.”
