Valmet has secured a repeat order from First Quality Tissues (FQT) for its Advantage THRU-AIR tissue line.
FQT plans to begin a new production line in the second quarter of 2018 and it will increase its production by 70,000 tons of ultra premium quality tissue to the company’s annual production.
The value of the order has not been disclosed and Valmet noted that the order will be included in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Previously, Valmet delivered three Advantage THRU-AIR tissue lines to FQT’s Andersion Mill and they started up on 2011, 2012 and 2016.
Valmet North America Tissue Technology Sales director Jan Larsson said: “Once again we have been awarded with the opportunity to continue to support FQT on their expansion plans in the ultra-premium tissue category.

First Quality Tissue is a subsidiary of the First Quality group of companies and is headquartered in Great Neck, New York, US. It is a manufacturer of non-discretionary consumer products. The company is claimed to be a market leader offering diversified and full product offerings in high quality private label and branded products.
FQT is currently operating five tissue machines in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and in Anderson, South Carolina.
The supplier, Valmet is a Finnish company specialising in technology and automation systems in pulp, paper and energy industries. The company was established in 2013 by the demerger of the pulp, paper and power industries from Metso Corp.
The company offers maintenance outsourcing, mill and power plant improvements and spares.
