Dragon Steel, the subsidiary of China Steel Corp. (CSC) announced to delay the commission of its No. 2 blast furnace (BF) to next March.
In fact, the company previously planned to put the No. 2 BF into operation by end of this year. However, it decided to postpone the plan due to weak demand.
It’s learned that the No.2 BF is a part of second phase of CSC’s expansion plan.
In 2010, CSC commissioned the first phase of its expansion plan, including the No.1 BF with annual capacity of 2.5 million tons and a hot rolling machine with annual production of 3 million tons.
