Irish corrugated packaging company Smurfit Kappa has launched the new range of eco-friendly easy to pour, 1.5 to 3l pouches for the wine market.
The new 1.5l Pouch-up has an 80% lower carbon footprint compared to glass packaging, serves as a lighter alternative and has a unique shape and finish.
According to Smurfit Kappa, the free-standing beverage pouch features a 100% printed surface for branding and a dispensing Vitop tap that extends the life of drinks after opening.
The Pouch-Up has been developed for further applications including cocktails and fresh fruit juices, including a cocktail pack created for Manchester Drinks.
Smurfit Kappa claims that the Pouch-Up needs no secondary outer box and improves logistics by increasing the volume of liquid a delivery vehicle can carry.
The new environment-friendly pouch weighs in at just 2.3% of its filled weight and is easy-to-pour with its ultra-light, go-anywhere design and is easy to re-seal.
