Sweden-based packaging manufacturer SCA has introduced new sustainable packaging products which will be produced at its Ortviken paper mill.
The new products are claimed to offer better printability.
Sustainable Packaging product has three product families including SPLENDO, OPERIO and PURO, which include both coated and uncoated grades as well as combine a light packaging material.
The new products also provide better product safety and environmental performance and offer low carbon footprint. They can be used for producing corrugated products, as a printing surface on board material and as flexible packaging for food.
SCA Forest Products sales and marketing vice president Rolf Johannesson said the company has been working for several years to develop products that can complement production of both publication papers and kraftliner.
"Sustainable Packaging is the first result of this development project," Johannesson added.
Located in Sundsvall, SCA Ortviken mill has an annual production capacity of about 900,000t of coated and uncoated paper.
