Bemis Plans to Close Its Pressure Sensitive Materials Manufacturing Facility in U.S.

Bemis plans to close its pressure sensitive materials manufacturing facility located in Stow of Ohio, US.

To improve its market competitiveness and to better its position in pressure sensitive materials business for long-term growth, the firm intends to shut down the plant.

According to the company, management plans to discontinue operations at the plant from May 2014, while headquarters of the pressure sensitive materials business will remain in Stow only.

The manufacturing facility, which recorded 2013 annual net sales of about $45m, primarily produces solvent-based pressure sensitive materials.

Bemis, which is a supplier of packaging and pressure sensitive materials, has technical base in polymer chemistry, film extrusion, coating and laminating, printing, and converting.
