Rigid packaging manufacturer Coveris Rigid (Mansfield) UK has developed a completely recyclable thin wall in-mould labelled packaging for the products of First Milk.
The new packaging is meant for First Milk's new, low fat Lake District Dairy Co. Cooking Sauces. The sauces will be available at retail outlets by the end of August and come in three flavors - tikka, garlic & herb, and tomato & basil.
The print label cannot be removed, peeled away or damaged by the sauce.
Coveris is a major supplier of containers in the UK dairy industry for products such as fresh cream, cottage cheese, crème frache and custard products.
First Milk is a dairy company completely owned by British farmers. It supplies dairy products and ingredients such as block cheeses, soft cheeses, raw milk, butter, skimmed milk powder, whey proteins and sports nutrition brands.
First Milk marketing director David Young said: "Coveris were a pleasure to work with, and their support throughout the product's development ensured that our needs and deadlines were met. Achieving the best shelf appeal possible is crucial to retail sales and we are delighted with the outcome."
