Global life sciences and materials sciences company Royal DSM’s development partner MF-Folien in Southern Germany has introduced a new polyamide film based on DSM’s bio-based EcoPaXX polyamide 410.
EcoPaXX polyamide 410 films are transparent and possess puncture resistance. They have a reduced moisture transmission rate and a comparable oxygen barrier.
The EcoPaXX polyamide 410 bio-based content rises from one of its building blocks, derived from castor oil which is obtained from plants that grow in tropical regions and are not used for food products.
DSM introduced EcoPaXX in a bid to meet increasing market demand for high performance durable bio-based engineering plastics.
